Understanding how attachment theory shapes behavior and communication is essential in conflict resolution. This interactive workshop explores the intersection of attachment styles and mediation, equipping professionals with tools to recognize emotional triggers, improve communication, and guide clients toward more equitable outcomes. Drawing from the work of Dr. Sue Johnson (Emotionally Focused Therapy) and John Bowlby (Attachment Theory), presenters Katharine Carter and Cassandra Davis will provide actionable strategies to identify and shift unhealthy relational dynamics in conflict situations. Through real-life case examples, guided self-reflection, experiential exercises, and role-play, participants will learn to integrate attachment-informed techniques into their mediation or collaborative law practices. This session is designed for mediators, lawyers, and mental health professionals seeking to support clients in emotionally charged disputes, especially in family law.
