Craig Hinz, Chartered Professional Accountant will speak about Tax Implications of Property Division and Support Payments in Divorce: valuing assets and liabilities with a tax discount approach in divorce situations, tax implications of splitting assets and liabilities, taxation of child and spousal support payments, implications of naming beneficiaries and importance of addressing same after divorce. Craig is also open to other topics that the group would like to discuss.

About the Presenter

Craig has 30 years of experience in public practice accounting, serving clients across various sectors in the areas of agriculture and ownermanaged taxation and accounting, not-for-profit audits, personal taxation matters and consultation services in the areas of finance, taxation, management and accounting. In addition to the accounting and taxation requirements of their business, Craig’s focus on the overall well-being of his clients has earned him a reputation as a trusted advisor amongst his valued clients.

After receiving his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan, Craig began his public practice career in 1996 and received his Chartered Accountant designation in 1999. Craig is currently a Partner with Virtus Group LLP.

Craig’s belief in giving back to his community has led him to serve for many years in a variety of roles.
